Elden Ring Is Getting a Movie Adaptation — Alex Garland Directing, George R. R. Martin Producing
Every day, more and more studios surprise us with new and unexpected adaptation announcements. And now it’s official — the world of Elden Ring is getting a full-fledged movie adaptation. The project will be helmed by none other than Alex Garland, known for Ex Machina, Annihilation, and as the screenwriter of 28 Days Later. He’ll be both writing and directing, so expect the atmosphere and immersion to be top-tier.
But wait, there’s more — George R. R. Martin is joining the project as a producer. Yes, that George Martin, who helped Hidetaka Miyazaki craft the rich lore of Elden Ring. With him on board, the Lands Between are in good hands.
There’s no concrete info yet: no shooting date, no plot details, and no casting news. We can only speculate whether the film will cover the entire game or focus on a specific arc.
For those who love movies and shows but aren’t familiar with games — Elden Ring is a hardcore RPG by FromSoftware, set in a dark fantasy world created in part by Martin. Since its release on February 25, 2022, the game has sold over 30 million copies — making it one of the biggest gaming hits in recent years.
And while we’re on the topic of adaptations — here’s another fun surprise coming our way: Supercell and Netflix are making a Clash of Clans animated series. Sounds like a wild ride already, and we’re definitely here for it.
