According to user reports, the mass suspensions began on May 18, 2025, targeting PlayStation 5 accounts first, before expanding to other consoles. Affected players say they’re unable to log in or recover their profiles, despite multiple attempts.

Players Lose Access to Games and Funds

Many users expressed outrage over losing access to their digital libraries, which in some cases include games worth tens of thousands of rubles. Some accounts also reportedly held unspent wallet balances, now inaccessible due to the bans.

Regional Accounts Also Affected

The situation appears to extend beyond just russian-based accounts. Several users have reported that their non-russian accounts, including those registered in the U.S., Ukraine, and Turkey, have also been suspended — further fueling speculation and confusion.

So far, Sony has not issued an official statement regarding the bans, leaving many affected players without answers — or access.
