Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Major Skirk Kit Adjustments in Version 5.7
A fresh round of Genshin Impact leaks has unveiled significant changes to Skirk’s ability kit, suggesting she’ll be a well-balanced 5-Star Cryo Sword user with strong potential in Freeze-oriented team comps. Initially teased as far back as Version 1.1, Skirk’s long-awaited arrival is set to happen in Version 5.7, with her debut aligning closely with the Natlan storyline.
🧊 Skirk’s Role in the Meta: A Freeze-Focused Hypercarry?
Skirk is being designed with a Freeze hypercarry archetype in mind, placing her alongside past meta-dominant Cryo characters like Ayaka and Ganyu. While those units lost some ground with the rise of Hyperbloom in Sumeru, Escoffier — Fontaine’s culinary master — revived interest in Cryo-based teams and was seemingly built with Skirk synergy in mind.
Both characters excel in Freeze builds, making them natural teammates when paired with Hydro supports like Yelan.
🔧 Key Kit Changes in the Genshin 5.7 Beta (via HomDGCat)
Thanks to trusted leaker HomDGCat, we now have a breakdown of how Skirk’s kit has evolved in the 5.7 beta:
🔄 Seven-Phase Flash
- Consumes 7 Serpent’s Subtlety per second while active.
- Ends immediately upon switching characters, eliminating synergy with Shenhe.
🛡️ Interruption Resistance
- Seven-Phase Flash: 0.15 (Comparable to Double Xingqiu)
- Hold E: 0.2
- C6 with Havoc Sever: 0 (Grants full interruption immunity)
❄️ Cryo Particle Generation
- Generates 4 Cryo particles every 15s when any Cryo damage is dealt.
- Works with Chongyun’s infusion, offering solid synergy options.
📊 Damage Multipliers
- Havoc Extinction boosts Normal Attack DMG via standard damage bonus.
- Havoc Ruin increases DMG multipliers tied to Serpent’s Subtlety usage across all 6 hits.
⚖️ Not Designed to Powercreep, but Flexible in Team Comps
While her Elemental Burst delivers high burst damage in one rotation, Skirk isn’t intended to powercreep existing Cryo mains. Her biggest limitation lies in energy generation, an area where Ayaka and Ganyu still outperform her. To balance this, Skirk’s teams will likely need characters equipped with Favonius weapons, especially Escoffier and Yelan for consistent energy support.
Interestingly, Skirk’s design also opens up possibilities for a quickswap playstyle, allowing her to function in hybrid teams with characters like Neuvillette or even a modified Ayaka comp.
📅 When Will Skirk Arrive?
Skirk is expected to feature on the Event Banners in Genshin Impact Version 5.7, with the update scheduled to launch on June 18, 2025.
For now, beta impressions are largely positive, with fans appreciating her flexibility, Freeze potential, and stylish Cryo mechanics. Stay tuned for further refinements as testing continues.
