Here’s a breakdown of every confirmed preorder title so far, including prices and release dates — and a quick peek at what each game actually is.

It's worth understanding what those people who crashed Switch 2 preorder stores are chasing so much.

Description of Every Game You Can Preorder for the Nintendo Switch 2 Right Now 1

Mario Kart World – June 5

This is the next-gen Mario Kart people have been begging for. Mario Kart World expands the usual circuit-style racing into a more connected online hub, with cross-country routes, weather effects, and even open-world-style exploration zones in some maps. It’s looking like a bold step forward for the franchise that could finally dethrone Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after nearly a decade.

Donkey Kong Bananza – July 17

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Donkey Kong headlining his own game, and Bananza is clearly aiming to fix that. Expect a side-scrolling action platformer in classic DK style, but built with a 2.5D engine that lets the levels pop with verticality and layered puzzles. The game also features new animal buddies, co-op mechanics, and what looks like full voice acting for the first time.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch 2 Edition) – June 5

This is a full technical remaster of Breath of the Wild, optimized for Switch 2’s improved display and performance. We’re talking faster load times, smoother framerate, updated lighting, and native 4K support when docked. Same classic game, just way better looking and more stable — perfect for players who missed it the first time or want a better experience on modern hardware.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch 2 Edition) – June 5

TOTK gets the same treatment as BotW, with major visual and performance upgrades tailored to the Switch 2’s muscle. This version apparently cuts down on the stuttering during sky island sequences and tightens up the physics-based building mechanics. No new content, but this is definitely the definitive version.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster – June 5

The original 3DS classic is finally getting an HD glow-up on home console. This remaster includes re-recorded voiceovers, higher-res character models, and a rebalanced job system. If you’re into turn-based JRPGs with deep class mechanics and an old-school Final Fantasy feel, this is your chance to jump in on one of Square Enix’s cult-favorite series.

Street Fighter 6: Year 1–2 Fighters Edition – June 5

Capcom is packaging Street Fighter 6 with all Year 1 and Year 2 DLC fighters for Switch 2’s launch. That means 10+ additional characters out of the box, which is a great deal for latecomers. The game runs at 60 FPS even in handheld mode thanks to Switch 2’s boosted specs, and while it's not quite PS5 level in visuals, it’s a huge win for fighting game fans who prefer portables.

Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV – July 24

This one's for the party gamers. Jamboree is a new entry in the Mario Party series, complete with a streaming-focused "Jamboree TV" mode that lets players create and broadcast game shows with their friends. It includes 8 new boards, 100+ minigames, and online co-op support from the jump. The vibe is very TikTok meets game night, and it honestly looks like a surprise hit in the making.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch 2 Edition) – August 28

Forgotten Land was already one of Kirby’s boldest entries, moving to full 3D platforming. Now it’s getting a Switch 2 polish pass — including better textures, smoother animations, and support for multiplayer with dynamic difficulty scaling. It's not a sequel, but this version fixes some of the clunky framerate drops in the original and just feels better to play overall.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar (Switch 2 Edition) – August 27

This updated version of Grand Bazaar blends farming sim vibes with classic market management. You still grow crops and raise animals, but now you also design and run your own bazaar stall to sell items and compete with NPC rivals. The Switch 2 edition adds new romance options, expanded voice acting, and quality-of-life improvements across the board.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion – September 5

The mech action sequel to Daemon X Machina is finally here, and it looks huge. Titanic Scion ups the ante with large-scale raids, deeper mech customization, and a darker tone that leans into sci-fi horror. Think Armored Core with a bit more anime flair and a story that actually tries to go somewhere. Plus, it’s one of the few Switch 2 exclusives that are already confirmed to support full online co-op missions.

So yeah, the Switch 2 isn’t launching with just one killer app — it’s launching with a dozen. Whether you’re in it for remasters, party games, story-driven adventures, or chaotic mech battles, there’s something here to make the preorder panic worth it.

More titles are expected to drop later this year, like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and The Duskbloods, but what’s already confirmed is more than enough to fuel a summer full of new Nintendo content.
