The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 Isn’t Coming Anytime Soon
CD Projekt RED has confirmed that the only game currently in active development for the Nintendo Switch 2 is a port of Cyberpunk 2077. While fans have expressed interest in a possible adaptation of The Witcher 3, the studio emphasized that all efforts are currently focused on bringing the futuristic RPG to the new console.
For now, there's no word on the return of the legendary Witcher to Nintendo’s platform, though many still remember his first appearance on the Switch back in 2019. That version surprised players not only by its mere existence but also by the technical compromises it required — earning it the tongue-in-cheek nickname "Switcher." Later updates improved the game’s performance and stability, but the initial release was far from flawless.
It seems likely that CDPR will revisit The Witcher 3 for Switch 2 only after the Cyberpunk 2077 port is fully polished. According to Digital Foundry, the port already delivers impressive results, though it still comes with a few limitations.
