New Marvel Rivals Leak Hints at Arakko Map and Ultron Invasion
A fresh Marvel Rivals leak is pointing toward Arakko as the next playable map for Season 2, and honestly, it makes perfect sense. Between the mutant-heavy storyline unfolding this season and the game's love of deep-cut comic lore, it was only a matter of time before Arakko—Krakoa’s lost mutant sister nation—showed up in the chaos. And if the leak's right, we’re not just getting a new map—we’re getting Ultron as well. Yeah, things are about to escalate.
The leak comes from X0X_LEAK, a name that’s been floating around the Marvel Rivals community for a while now and has a decent track record. According to them, new lore entries have been found in the game files, mentioning an Ultron-led attack on Krakoa, a stolen Cerebro, and a chase that leads to—you guessed it—Arakko. Even the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda apparently loses track of the place, which is peak comic book drama, honestly.

Backing it all up is Miller Ross, another known leaker, who claims the new map will launch on May 30 as part of a mid-season update, alongside Ultron himself as a new playable character. If that's true, we’re looking at a pretty stacked update with lore implications, gameplay changes, and likely a batch of new cosmetics, too.

If you’re not caught up on your X-Men history, Arakko is a big deal. In the comics, it was once part of the ancient living island Okkara, which split into Krakoa and Arakko after a demon god named Annihilation launched an attack. Apocalypse ended up sealing Arakko away to stop the invasion, and ever since then, it’s been the edgy twin of Krakoa—more war-torn, more ruthless, and full of mutants who’ve been hardened by centuries of battle.

Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is already leaning hard into Krakoan lore, with the Hellfire Gala map introducing mutant aesthetics, strategic Domination gameplay, and an atmosphere straight out of the current X-Men comics. Arakko feels like the natural evolution—think more scorched earth, jagged alien terrain, and high-stakes team fights with mutant world-building baked in.
Of course, none of this is official yet, so take it with the usual “we’ll wait for NetEase to confirm” with a grain of salt. But based on how well Marvel Rivals has been blending comics with gameplay so far, Arakko sounds like the perfect next step.
For now, players can continue battling it out on Krakoa, but if the leaks are real, we’ll be packing our bags for Arakko soon—and probably dodging Ultron’s drones along the way.
