The Witcher 4 Won’t Launch Before 2027, CD Projekt RED Confirms
Fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in The Witcher saga will need to be patient—according to CD Projekt RED’s latest financial report, The Witcher 4 isn’t expected to release before 2027.

The game is currently in active development, with 411 developers dedicated to the project. In parallel, a team of 49 developers at CD Projekt-owned studio The Molasses Flood is working on a spin-off titled Project Sirius, also set in The Witcher universe. The rest of the company’s development resources are focused on other ongoing projects.
The Witcher 4 was officially unveiled during The Game Awards 2024, where a teaser trailer revealed a major shift in the series: the game will feature a grown-up Ciri as the main protagonist, stepping into the spotlight after Geralt’s era.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game entered full production in the second half of 2024, but CD Projekt RED has yet to announce an exact release window.
While 2027 may feel far off, the studio appears committed to taking its time to deliver a worthy successor in this beloved franchise.
