Season 2 of Chapter 6: Lawless launched on February 21, 2025, transforming the island into a crime-ridden battleground. New locations like Crime City, Outlaw Oasis, Shiny Shafts, and Lonewolf Lair set the stage, while the Black Market—run by the aptly named Big Dill—introduced Dill Bits, a shady currency for acquiring powerful weapons.

This shift comes after the breakneck pace of Chapter 5, which spanned just four seasons from December 2023 to February 2025—a total of 333 days filled with constant map and meta shifts. Some players felt rushed, while others were relieved by the rapid changes.

However, leaks from trusted Fortnite insiders like AllyJax and Shiina suggest that Chapter 6 could extend to six seasons, two more than Chapter 5. For some, this is exciting, while for others, it’s dreadful news.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Is Here to Stay for Six Seasons

If you enjoy crime bosses, a camp-heavy meta, and Kneecapper spam, you’re in luck—this gameplay loop is set to last for quite a while.

Reactions among players have been mixed:

  • “I can sense the storyline getting good over time.” Some remain hopeful that each season will bring new twists rather than simply recycling the same loot pool.
  • “We were robbed of six seasons on the Chapter 3 and 4 maps.” Many believe Chapters 3 and 4 had stronger, more diverse settings—Chapter 3 featured distinct biomes, while Chapter 4 introduced Mega City and impactful weapon buffs.
  • “Finally! Four seasons wasn’t enough time on the map.” Others welcome the extended duration, feeling that Chapter 5 was over too soon.
  • “Six seasons for Chapter 6?! This is going to be epic!” Some players are thrilled about a longer chapter, hoping it allows more room for evolution.

Like It or Not, Lawless Is Thriving

Despite the controversy, the Lawless season is proving to be a hit. The Outlaw Keycards keep players on the move, while Black Market trades add a strategic layer—unless you find yourself ambushed by campers.

Whether you love or hate the current state of Fortnite, one thing is certain: Chapter 6 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
