Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: How to Open Train Vaults and Secure High-Tier Loot

Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite is all about high-stakes heists, and this time, hijacking the train is well worth your effort.

For most of the previous chapter, players largely ignored the train, but the Lawless season changes that by significantly boosting its rewards. Of course, with better loot comes a greater challenge—grabbing the goods isn’t as simple as waiting for them to appear anymore.

Here’s everything you need to know about opening train vaults and making the most of this mobile treasure trove.

How to Open Train Vaults in Fortnite

To break into the train’s vaults, follow these steps:

1. Destroy a turret – Locate an active turret on the train and take it down.
2. Steal its Thermite Core – After destroying the turret, grab the Thermite Core it drops.
3. Plant the Thermite on the vault door – The vault is located on the train’s roof. Place the Thermite on the door to initiate the breach.

Important Tips:

• Disable surrounding turrets first. Any active turret can destroy your planted Thermite, forcing you to start over. Learn from my mistake—I lost two Thermite before realizing this!
• Prepare for reinforcements. Once inside, expect enemy players and AI guards to appear nearby when the train stops. Stay alert and ready to fight.

Train Location in Chapter 6 Season 2

The train is constantly moving across the map, but its tracks remain the same. It follows this route:

• Starts east of Crime City
• Passes through Brutal Boxcarts and Seaport City
• Continues south past Foxy Floodgate

To locate it, look for the moving vault icon on the map, marked with a smaller wolf icon above it.

What’s Inside the Train Vault?

Each train vault contains:

• Two blue and silver chests
• Additional common chests
• Stacks of gold bars to spend at vending machines
• Two Dill Bit coins that can be used later at the Black Market

With these rewards up for grabs, looting the train vaults is one of the best ways to gear up in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2. Just make sure you’re ready for the fight that comes with it!
