Summer Game Fest 2025 Confirmed for June 6
Geoff Keighley has announced that Summer Game Fest 2025 will take place on June 6, kicking off a week of exciting gaming reveals. The annual event, which Keighley launched in 2020 to replace E3, has become a key platform for game developers to showcase trailers and announcements for upcoming titles.
While the exact time for this year’s showcase hasn’t been revealed, it’s expected to follow the pattern set by Summer Game Fest 2024, which aired at 2 p.m. PT on June 7. The event will be live-streamed for global viewers and held in person at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. Keighley teased that Summer Game Fest will present "what’s next from the entire video game industry," though no specific games or studios have been confirmed yet.
Following the showcase, there will once again be a Play Days event for media and influencers. But for now, mark your calendars for June 6—the main event for gamers everywhere!
Geoff Keighley, a key figure in the gaming world, worked with the ESA for years to support E3. However, when the event shifted focus in 2020, Keighley opted out, leading him to create Summer Game Fest. In response to the pandemic's impact on E3, he launched a four-month-long virtual event, which showcased numerous game releases and demos. Since then, Summer Game Fest has continued annually, offering fans a diverse, industry-wide gaming experience, featuring major publishers and indie developers alike. The event has evolved into a hybrid of both digital and physical showcases, filling the gap left by E3’s decline.
