The Sony scandal: how the most famous PlayStation trophy-hacker became a victim of betrayal by the support team
An unpleasant situation happened to one of the most famous PlayStation trophy hunters - a user with the nickname Hakoom. Over the 17 years of his gaming career, he has repeatedly entered the Guinness Book of Records for his achievements in video games. However, on 9 September, Hakoom faced a serious problem: a Sony support employee stole personal data from his account, sold it online, and blocked his PSN account.
For 45 days, Hakoom persistently provided evidence and sought a hearing. As a result, Sony agreed to reinstate his account, but stated that it was terminating his cooperation as an official brand influencer. In other words, instead of an apology or any compensation, Hakoom lost his partnership with the company, although he was not to blame for the situation. Previously, he always supported Sony, actively promoted the PlayStation brand and was its face in the trophy hunting community.
