Explore Genshin Impact’s Mysterious New Region and Legendary Dragon in Update 5.2!
Genshin Impact has unveiled exciting details about a new subregion arriving in the upcoming Version 5.2 update. The vast world of Teyvat currently spans six major regions, with Natlan being the latest addition in Version 5.0. As usual, the game expands on each major nation by adding smaller, unique subregions, and the latest update will introduce Ochkanatlan, also known as "The Fabled Forbidden Ground."
In a recent post on HoYoLAB, Genshin Impact revealed concept art and in-game screenshots of Ochkanatlan, describing it as an ancient, fog-shrouded city with a powerful dragon lurking in its depths. This region has been corrupted by the Abyss, one of the main antagonistic factions in Genshin Impact. In addition to the "great dragon," players can expect to encounter other dragon-like enemies.

Ochkanatlan offers a mix of ground and aerial exploration. According to lore, a hidden secret lies in the skies above the city, and one screenshot hints that players will be able to explore these high altitudes. Fans are buzzing with theories about the identity of the “great dragon,” with many hoping it might be the Pyro Dragon, possibly one of Genshin Impact’s Seven Sovereigns.
Given the recent introduction of Neuvillette, the reincarnated Hydro Dragon, in the previous Archon Chapter, some fans hope for a similar Pyro-themed character. Neuvillette himself is a fan-favorite Hydro DPS and will make a return in Version 5.2, as confirmed for the Phase 2 banner.
The first half of the update, launching on November 20, will feature two new characters: the five-star Anemo DPS Chasca and the four-star support unit Ororon.
