Fortnite Welcomes Star Wars Legends: Chewbacca and Lando Join the May the Fourth Celebrations!
Fortnite's annual "May the Fourth" event this year will be expanding its Star Wars roster. Known for its diverse range of cosmetic options, Fortnite frequently features a mix of intimidating and adorable characters, from the Predator to the friendly Meowscles and Bush Ranger. A key draw for players is the introduction of new skins, particularly from beloved franchises.
With the closure of Fortnite Season OG and the advent of Chapter 5 in early December, the game has introduced new game modes. This has facilitated various collaborations, such as the Fortnite Festival, which integrates popular music hits into the game, a move that quickly gained popularity. These collaborations are not just about introducing new content but also enhancing the offerings from returning franchises, as seen with the upcoming Star Wars event beginning on May 3, 2024.
The 2024 Star Wars x Fortnite collaboration was announced on April 15, sparking anticipation among players for more details. Initially, Epic Games revealed the addition of the Cantina Band from the Fortnite Festival. Subsequent leaks and teasers hinted at the inclusion of Chewbacca in the game, with a Fortnite Chewbacca LEGO character unveiled on April 25 and his official skin for Battle Royale mode revealed four days later.
Chewbacca is set to be a central figure in the event, with indications that his bowcaster will be available as a Mythic weapon. Additionally, the event will see the return of items and weapons from the Olympian Boss, which are expected to replace the Avatar: The Last Airbender Mythics in Fortnite.
Confirmed Items & Cosmetics for the May 3 event include:

- Chewbacca skin
- Chewbacca's Bowcaster
- Lando Calrissian
- LEGO Fortnite Lightsabers

In the lead-up to the event, other exciting details have been revealed. Lando Calrissian will join the roster alongside the iconic Wookie.
