Rev Up Your Engines: Fortnite's Next Season to Introduce Game-Changing Vehicle Hijacking Mechanic!

Fortnite is reportedly set to introduce a new vehicle mechanic in its upcoming season, allowing players to hijack vehicles from others. This anticipated feature, expected to debut in Chapter 5 Season 3, could significantly alter strategic approaches to vehicle use within the game's expansive player community.

Currently, Fortnite is in Chapter 5 Season 2, themed "Myths & Mortals," which explores an ancient Greek gods motif. This season has introduced Points of Interest (POIs) such as Mount Olympus and The Underworld, and powerful new weapons like the Thunderbolt of Zeus and the Chains of Hades. Additionally, a recent crossover with "Avatar: The Last Airbender" has brought popular characters and mythical bending powers to the game.

Despite recent underemphasis on vehicles, the potential hijacking mechanic, as reported by Dexerto and hinted by Fortnite leaker SpushFNBR (via HYPEX), promises to rejuvenate this aspect of gameplay. A "steal" prompt will reportedly appear when conditions for hijacking are met, although abrupt movements or crashes will disrupt the hijacking process. Players may also have the option to cancel a hijacking attempt, although it’s not specified whether this refers to the hijacker or the vehicle's driver.

The new hijacking feature is also said to include a cooldown period, details of which remain speculative. This follows earlier leaks by Loolo_WRLD, which similarly described mechanisms and failures related to vehicle hijacking.

Apart from vehicle dynamics, Fortnite seems to have more in the pipeline. A leaked 2024 roadmap suggests planned crossovers with various franchises, including Among Us and Pirates of the Caribbean, and events featuring artists like Karol G and Snoop Dogg at Fortnite Festival.

Moreover, another rumored upcoming feature is a picture-in-picture mode, highly sought after by the Fortnite community. As these leaks continue to circulate, the Fortnite community eagerly awaits confirmation on which, if any, will materialize in the game.
