Fortnite Shakes Things Up: Major Weapon Balancing and an Exciting Avatar Crossover Revealed!

Fortnite's latest balance update brings significant changes to its arsenal, tweaking the performance of several weapons and introducing improvements alongside the Avatar: The Last Airbender event which started on April 2. In this update, the Reaper Sniper Rifle and Frenzy Auto Shotgun have seen reductions in their effectiveness, while the Chains of Hades and the newly introduced Waterbending ability have been enhanced. Additionally, Hand Cannons have become more common in the game, following their reintroduction in Chapter 5, Season 2.

The game's newest feature, the Waterbending Mythic, debuted with the Avatar crossover event. Players engaging in quests for the Korra skins will encounter this Mythic item, which lets them launch icy projectiles at foes and heal when in water. Just three days post-launch, Waterbending received updates to make its projectiles faster and more damaging, along with an enhanced fire rate.

Meanwhile, the Chains of Hades have been made more lethal, with increased damage for its melee and pull attacks. On the flip side, the Reaper Sniper Rifle now fires slower bullets that drop more significantly, by a whopping 116%, and it's become less common in chest drops. The Frenzy Auto Shotgun's adjustments include a slower fire rate and reduced headshot damage. Lastly, the Hand Cannon's availability has been increased, now appearing in rare chests.
