You have only seven days left to participate in the voting for the Game of the Year at the 2023 Golden Joystick Awards
The "Golden Joystick Awards" ceremony has unveiled its nominees in three key categories: "Ultimate Game of the Year" (UGOTY), "Best Supporting Performer," and "Best Leading Performer," and invites you to participate in the voting process. This award is organized by PC Gamer, Future.
This marks the 41st ceremony, which has been successfully running since 1983. This year, the competition boasts more than 20 categories for gamers to express their preferences. While several categories were announced earlier this month, these three were delayed due to late entries, such as Spider-Man 2. Voting will remain open until October 30 at 23:00 GMT (4:00 PM PT, 7:00 PM ET).
The list of nominees in the "Ultimate Game of the Year" category is extensive, reflecting the dynamic landscape of the video game world. This year has seen games receiving the highest ratings in 16 years, the long-anticipated conclusion of the Cyberpunk 2077 saga, and unexpected indie hits like Dave the Diver.
Regarding PC games, the list of nominees includes titles such as Baldur's Gate 3, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Starfield, Cocoon, Hi-Fi Rush, Lords of the Fallen, Diablo 4, and many more. It's worth noting that this is a cross-platform vote, allowing even PS5 owners to participate, whether they're swinging through New York in Spider-Man 2 or awaiting news of the game's port.
Future's Director of Content, Daniel Doughty, highlights the immense list of nominees in the "Ultimate Game of the Year" category, emphasizing the difficulty of evaluating games due to the constant updates in online gaming and the blurred lines between expansions and full-fledged releases.
The categories of "Best Supporting Performer" and "Best Leading Performer" also feature well-known names, including Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2) and Idris Elba (Solomon Reed in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Freedom), as well as key characters from Baldur's Gate 3: Neil Newbon (Astarion) and Amelia Tyler (The Narrator).
You can participate in the voting process now, and it will conclude on October 30. The ceremony will take place on November 10 and will be broadcast worldwide, marking the first offline event since the onset of the pandemic. Don't miss the chance to find out if your favorite game will be crowned "Game of the Year 2023" at the "Golden Joystick Awards."
