Ubisoft has announced reaching a significant milestone in the development of the "Prince of Persia" game remake
Ubisoft Montreal has pleasantly surprised fans with recent news highlighting active progress in the development of their legendary game. Despite prior statements indicating a need for time before additional project information could be shared, this week brought forth positive updates.
"A passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal is diligently reimagining this captivating storyline, and we proudly announce that the project has reached a significant developmental milestone," read the official statement.
"We eagerly await the opportunity to share more detailed information in the future!"
The game was announced in September 2020 and had been in development for two and a half years within the Indian studios of Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. Its release was initially slated for January 2021.
However, due to a negative reception of the game's trailer, the release was repeatedly postponed. Last year, it was announced that Ubisoft Montreal, the creator of the original "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" in 2003, took over the game's development.
"We're currently in the conceptual phase," noted producer Jean-François earlier this year. "We're examining community feedback, shaping our team, defining priorities, creating prototypes, and testing game elements."
Despite previous statements suggesting no additional information about the game would be shared this year, the latest updates confirm active progress in the project. More detailed data might surface soon, but players have been assured that Ubisoft is putting in every effort to craft an enthralling gaming experience.
