The trailer for New South Park: Snow Day showcases the first gameplay scenes
The recently announced game, Snow Day, unveiled during a live broadcast in August, is a three-dimensional cooperative adventure set on the snowy streets of South Park.
Expected to launch in March 2024, the game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, priced at €29.99/ $29.99/ £24.99.
In the latest trailer, characters from South Park are dressed akin to the style seen in South Park: The Stick of Truth, with the player taking on the role of a new kid arriving in town.
This third-person action game allows players to engage in battles with other kids from South Park, dodging traps and overcoming various dangers.
"South Park's new game is coming soon... in 3D," reads the description. "Join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny in three-dimensional glory to celebrate every kid's most magical day - a snow day!
"Gather up to three friends and together, take on missions to save the world on the snowy streets of South Park, enjoying a day without school."
The trailer reveals that the game is being developed by Question Games, a California-based developer known for its work on first-person games like The Magic Circle and The Blackout Club.
South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, confirmed in 2021 that they are working on a new "3D video game."
The previous two South Park games, The Stick of Truth (2014) and The Fractured but Whole (2017), were created in collaboration with Ubisoft. The latter was developed by The Outer Worlds studio - Obsidian.
Both games received positive reviews and currently hold Metacritic scores of 85 and 84, respectively.
