The franchise leadership has announced that they plan to release "annual updates" for Diablo 4
At present, Blizzard has not officially disclosed its future plans regarding expansions for Diablo 4.
Nevertheless, in an interview with Dexerto, Rod Fergusson, the General Manager of Diablo, alluded to the prospect of "annual updates" when asked about the game's long-term support.
"I mean, it's obviously about the length of the journey," Fergusson remarked. "But, you know, we're talking about many years here.
"This is our current primary focus. When you consider the game's initial launch and this inaugural season, we view it as establishing the groundwork for what lies ahead.
"So, when we discuss our quarterly seasons and yearly updates, these are the elements that currently command our attention.
"We have plans and narrative arcs that extend into the future. We consistently stay ahead of the curve in terms of seasons and updates, so we anticipate continuing this effort for a substantial duration."
Blizzard stated, "The Blood Season will usher in a new questline, vampiric abilities that can be wielded against their creators, and an additional five endgame bosses, offering the chance to acquire exclusive and exceptionally unique items through drops, and much more."
As per the publisher, Diablo 4, which launched on June 5th for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, stands as the highest-selling game in the history of the World of Warcraft studio.
