Spider-Man 2: Hilarious Video Captures Thugs' Bizarre Car Chase Escape
A Marvel's Spider-Man 2 player has captured an amusing video of street thugs arriving to confront Spider-Man but suddenly making a hasty escape in another nearby car without engaging in a battle. Since its late October release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has enjoyed massive success with both reviewers and fans, making it a significant hit for Insomniac and Sony. Just 24 hours after its launch on October 20, Spider-Man 2 became the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game, with 2.5 million copies sold.
Despite being a highly praised exclusive title, Spider-Man 2 is not immune to occasional hiccups and issues. Players have reported various unusual glitches and visual bugs that affect the gameplay experience. One such peculiar incident involved Miles Morales turning into a white cube while swinging around New York. This odd and comical bug seemed to occur after changing suits, causing the game to fail to load the new suit correctly, rendering the character mostly invisible except for a white cube bouncing and moving around, even during combat and while rescuing NPCs. Enemy AI behavior has also raised eyebrows at times, as seen in this instance during a New York patrol.
An amusing video was recorded by AmazonMason, showcasing a bizarre encounter with some street thugs. After completing a city alert mission while patrolling the open-world New York City in Spider-Man 2, a new group of enemies arrives in a car and rams into Spider-Man. Preparing for a fight, the player is taken aback as the three foes exit the car, bypass a motionless Peter Parker, and hop into another nearby car, driving away as if nothing had transpired.
Comments on the video attempted to decipher the fleeing enemies' thought process. One user suggested they noticed the Symbiote Surge bar was full and decided to flee. Others speculated that since ramming Spider-Man with the car didn't yield results, they opted for a quick escape instead. Another player named chippy-triforce shared a similarly strange incident in Spider-Man 2, where criminals being chased suddenly merged into traffic, slowed down, and caused the alert notification to vanish. These incidents hint at potential AI issues during open-world activities.
Although not a glitch or bug, Insomniac faced some controversy when players discovered that the Morales household displayed the wrong flag. The flag shown in the house was that of Cuba instead of Puerto Rico, which is the heritage of Rio and Miles. Insomniac acknowledged the mistake and issued an update to Spider-Man 2, correcting the flag to accurately represent Puerto Rico.
