Slender Man Game Returns with Major Upgrade and New Content for 10th Anniversary
Developer Blue Isle Studios has announced a significant comeback for the Slender Man game, promising substantial graphical enhancements and fresh content.
This fall, Slender Man returns in style with a major update to mark the 10th anniversary of "Slender: The Arrival". More than a decade after its initial release, "Slender: The Arrival" is set to receive a substantial update featuring upgrades, additional features, and new storyline elements.
Originally launched in March 2013, "Slender: The Arrival" made its debut on PC during the peak of Slender Man's online popularity. In subsequent years, the horror adventure title made its way to modern platforms like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, undergoing crucial fixes and adjustments along the way. While interest in Slender Man dwindled in recent years, Blue Isle Studios has been diligently working on creating new content and updates for "Slender: The Arrival". Back in June, the studio hinted at the game's comeback, and now, they're ready to unveil what's in store for this October.
In a recent blog post, Blue Isle Studios confirmed that the Slender: The Arrival 10th-anniversary update is scheduled to launch on October 18. This update boasts a new story chapter, substantial graphical enhancements powered by Unreal Engine 5, and expanded language support. Steam users who already own "Slender: The Arrival" will receive this update free of charge and will have the option to switch between previous versions of the game by accessing Steam properties. Blue Isle Studios has also released a gameplay trailer to give players a glimpse of the new story chapter, with "big plans for future expansions" to be revealed in an upcoming roadmap, as mentioned in the studio's latest blog post.
In addition to the update, "Slender: The Arrival" will be available for $19.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store for the first time. The Steam version's price will be increased from $9.99 to $19.99, so savvy players looking to save money may want to purchase the title before the launch day. Moreover, the update will bring support for higher frame rates and resolutions, with new PC system requirements listing 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 graphics card for recommended settings.
While the initial release of "Slender: The Arrival" wasn't met with overwhelming praise, this 10th-anniversary update aims to deliver a more polished and visually captivating experience on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, the update will not be available on last-generation platforms like PS4 and Xbox One, so players looking to continue the Slender: The Arrival storyline will need to repurchase the game. This decision may stem from limitations associated with Unreal Engine 5 on older platforms.
So far, the 10th-anniversary update for "Slender: The Arrival" appears highly promising, with its substantial improvements and competitive pricing on current platforms. These enhancements are vital for delivering an immersive horror experience with the iconic Slender Man as the central antagonist. It's likely that Blue Isle Studios will unveil more details in the lead-up to the release next month.
