Pikmin 4 is now the best-selling game in the series

In the latest financial report covering the last six months leading up to September 2023, Nintendo has announced that the new Pikmin game has sold 2.61 million copies up to that point.

This means that the game, released at the end of July, has outperformed any other Pikmin title in just a little over two months.

Previously, the best-selling game in the series was Pikmin 3 Deluxe, also for the Switch, released in October 2020, and it had sold 2.4 million copies by December 2022.

A significant portion of these sales came from its home country, Japan, where it had been the top-selling game for quite some time.

The game consistently ranks among the top five in the Japanese physical software charts and has sold approximately 930,000 physical units in Japan alone.

The game's success in Japan can be attributed in part to an extensive advertising campaign that spanned the entire country.

Pikmin 4 is now the best-selling game in the series.

In other figures, Nintendo noted that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains the best-selling game for the Switch, selling an additional 1.5 million copies in the last three months, bringing its total sales to 57.01 million to date.
