It appears that the launch of Starfield has become the biggest event in the history of Xbox Game Studios

When the game Starfield was released on a Wednesday, Xbox head, Phil Spencer, announced that there were more than a million simultaneous players across all platforms. However, the exact number of unique users who participated in the game remained unknown.

Now, this information has become available thanks to a tweet from the official Starfield account on Twitter. The tweet claims that by the end of the first official release day, more than six million people had played the game.

The message also emphasizes that "by the morning, Starfield had reached the milestone of 6 million players, making it the most successful game launch from Bethesda in its history."

Although an official statement from Xbox has not been made yet, it appears that this also makes Starfield the most successful launch day for games from Xbox Game Studios, including those from Bethesda.

The previous record was set by the release of Forza Horizon 5 in November 2021. At that time, Phil Spencer announced that the game had reached "4.5 million players on PC, in the cloud, and on consoles," making it "the biggest day-one launch for a game from Xbox Game Studios."

Given the absence of new data, Bethesda's statement about six million players after the first day of release likely sets a new record. It remains to be seen whether Starfield will surpass the record of Forza Horizon 5, which gathered 10 million players in its first week and was recognized as the "most successful first week in Xbox history."
