Epic Games Unveils Spooky Fortnitemares Event for Fortnite with New Rewards and Skins
Epic Games has announced the return of the highly anticipated Halloween-themed Fortnitemares event in Fortnite. As the popular Battle Royale game continues to thrive, Epic Games keeps players engaged with a constant stream of updates, seasonal content, and unique crossovers spanning various franchises, from video games to movies, TV shows, and iconic comic book characters from Marvel and DC.
The live service model ensures that Fortnite receives holiday-inspired content, and October brings forth the annual Fortnitemares event, celebrating the spooky season. In previous years, Fortnitemares has introduced new weapons, skins, and exciting game modes that require players to collaborate in taking down Cube Monsters during the Horde Rush. Each iteration of Fortnitemares also brings its own set of surprises, and this year's edition appears to continue the tradition.
Accompanied by a brief trailer, the official Fortnite website provides a comprehensive overview of the Fortnitemares 2023 event. Following the success of last year's crossover with Rick and Morty, the 2023 event features a lineup of renowned character skins, including Alan Wake, the horror icon Michael Myers, and Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. In addition to character skins, the event introduces emotes, back blings, and gliders themed around each character. Epic Games also confirmed that the in-game Shop will showcase both new and returning outfits from past Fortnitemares events, including Seth, Bogstick, Phantom Meowscles, and Festival Phaedra.
Alongside the character skins, Fortnitemares resurrects some classic items from the vault, including the Pumpkin Launcher, Witch Broom, and Sanguine Sweets (featuring Candy Corn, Pepper Mints, Hop Drops, and Jelly Beans). New additions like Thorne's Vampiric Blade and the Wood Stake Shotgun further enhance the eerie arsenal. Players can also engage in quests related to Horde Rush and Fortnitemares, each offering rewards for completing 5, 15, and 25 quests, ranging from Back Blings, Icons, Emotes, Wraps, and much more.
This holiday event arrives at an intriguing time for Fortnite, as Epic Games recently announced a slight price increase for V-bucks, the game's premium currency. The adjustment is scheduled for October 27, conveniently aligning with the Fortnitemares event. Fans interested in acquiring the new seasonal offerings may want to seize the opportunity to purchase V-bucks at the current prices before the cost rises.
