Last week, the gaming community uncovered intriguing details about the Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition. As per the information spotted by MauroNL, the removed game description on the Xbox store reveals numerous enhancements for the gaming experience.
According to the description, the updated version of the game offers players an immersive adventure in high resolution at 4K and 60 frames per second. Improved graphics, controls, and audio contribute to a more captivating gameplay. Additionally, new autosave and cross-save features have been introduced.
The description also mentions exclusive rewards, exploration of the planet, and unveiling the protagonist's past in a new quest across Hillys. The game has incorporated a speedrun mode to test players' skills, updated achievements, and a gallery uncovering secrets and the game's development process.
Beyond Good & Evil was released in 2003 and gained popularity among players on PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. Since then, Ubisoft has aimed for a sequel, presenting the prequel at E3 2017 and 2018.
In 2020, Netflix announced the adaptation of the game into a film. However, according to reports from Kotaku, the studio faced development issues with Beyond Good & Evil 2, resulting in the departure of the director of Ubisoft Montpellier. Despite these challenges, the studio continues working on the game, which has not yet reached the technical pre-production stage.
