According to Bethesda's information, Starfield has officially reached a milestone of 10 million players
In an official tweet from the Starfield account on Tuesday, this significant milestone was celebrated with the message: "Thank you to more than 10 million Starfield explorers for creating the biggest launch in Bethesda history".
While this achievement may set a new record for Bethesda, it appears that Starfield has not been able to replicate the same success for Xbox Game Studios as a whole.
In 2021, Microsoft announced that Forza Horizon 5 attracted over 10 million players in its first week, making it the most successful first-week launch in Xbox history.
In comparison, it seems that Starfield took almost twice as long to reach this milestone.
However, it's worth noting that Starfield was released exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PC, while Forza Horizon 5 was also released on Xbox One, giving it a broader user base.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Starfield was the fifth fastest-selling game in Europe this year based on first-week performance.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the game was "almost" the most successful Xbox launch in Europe in terms of sales for this generation, just slightly ahead of Forza Horizon 5.
These figures do not take into account Xbox Game Pass downloads, where Forza Horizon 5 seemingly performed exceptionally well.
By the end of its first official day of release, more than six million people had played Starfield, including over one million concurrent players, according to Microsoft.
Its release also contributed to the success of Xbox Series X/S console sales in the UK, with two of the most successful sales weeks of the year.
