The EVO trailers for Tekken 8 confirm the authenticity of the leaked full character roster

Since the commencement of the closed network testing in July, Tekken 8 has been enveloped in a flurry of rumors and speculations, spurred by data miners who have ventured into the game's files. Among their findings, numerous alleged character leaks have emerged, including the unearthing of six undisclosed characters concealed within the game's code.

Another leak surfaced just last week, presenting an image purportedly showcasing the foundational roster of Tekken 8. This image ignited fervent debates regarding its authenticity. However, the presentations at this weekend's EVO event appear to have substantiated the credibility of this information.

Fortunate attendees of the EVO event were pleasantly surprised on August 6th with the unveiling of two entirely new character trailers for Tekken 8. Raven made a triumphant return in a rendition reminiscent of Wesley Snipes, a nostalgic nod to an earlier version, rather than the iteration seen in Tekken 7. Additionally, a completely fresh character named Azusena was introduced, marking her debut. Both of these characters had been alluded to in a previous roster leak, and their depictions in the roster align seamlessly with what was unveiled in the trailers.

Upon merging the details gleaned from the leaked images and the characters identified within the Cheat Engine program of the preceding month, a cohesive narrative unfolds. This compilation suggests the impending revelation of an additional 12 characters for Tekken 8. While predominantly featuring the reappearance of familiar faces, it is likely that at least two uncharted newcomers will join the fray. Should you wish to preserve the element of surprise regarding the forthcoming additions to the Tekken 8 roster, it is advisable to avert your gaze from this divulgence.

However, here lies a compilation of characters who remain undisclosed thus far:

  • Zafina
  • Victor (newcomer)
  • Leo
  • Reina (newcomer)
  • Dragunov
  • Yoshimitsu
  • Kuma
  • Shaheen
  • Steve
  • Devil Jin
  • Alisa
  • Feng
  • Panda

The monikers Victor and Reina first emerged from a source on 4chan in April, which unveiled their impending inclusion in the roster of new characters. Given the remarkable precision with which this source prophesied the appellation and disposition of the character Azusena, one can reasonably infer that they have also accurately divined the attributes of the other two characters.

In some respects, I find it disheartening that the comprehensive character roster has been laid bare so prematurely. The eager anticipation that accompanied the release of each character trailer, introducing the latest heroes, has lost some of its luster. Nonetheless, Bandai company has encountered difficulties in maintaining a veil of secrecy for several months now. For instance, an inadvertent slip divulged information about Hwoarang's involvement in May, and even amidst the leaks, trailers featuring Azusena and Raven were exposed a few hours ahead of schedule. On a positive note, this situation grants me the official opportunity to bid a fond farewell to Lucky Chloe and deliberate over selecting a new character to champion as my primary focus within the game.
