EVO 2023 is a major fighting games tournament scheduled to take place in Las Vegas
From August 4th to 6th, EVO 2023 will take place in Las Vegas, and the expectations for the event are already exceptionally high.
Here is some information about what is known at the moment:
- RIOT GAMES is entering the world of fighting games with the alpha test of PROJECT L, which will be available offline at the tournament, providing more insights into the project itself.
- Trailers for Mortal Kombat 1 will be showcased at the event. Ed Boon and the NetherRealm team, following a successful presentation at San Diego ComicCon 2023, will also unveil new trailers at EVO 2023.Katsuhiro Harada and the Tekken Project team will present Tekken 8 during the event, allowing us to see one or two characters from the Tekken 8 lineup.
- Capcom will announce a character from the first DLC map for Street Fighter 6 at EVO. It might potentially be A.K.I, and there could also be an announcement for the second lineup of DLC characters.
- The Arc team, creators of Guilty Gear and DNF Duel, are celebrating their 35th anniversary, and an Arc Live presentation will take place on August 4th.
On August 4th, the EVO 2023 Industry Showcase will feature numerous tournaments, and fighting game developers will present updates for games that are already available to play as well as those that will be released soon.
On August 5th, Red Bull and Riot Games will jointly host the Red Bull Pindrop Las Vegas event with a small surprise. It is likely that this event will revolve around the "Project L" project. The event is scheduled to take place from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
On August 6th, the finals of the Top-6 main games of EVO 2023 (Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 6) will be held. After these finals, developers often introduce new characters to their games.
