Street Fighter 6 has become the second game this month to achieve the prestigious "Famitsu 40" rating.
According to the information from the Ryokutya2089 portal, the game featured in the 1801 issue of the weekly publication received a score of 40.
Famitsu magazine conducts game reviews with the help of four different reviewers, each of whom rates the game on a scale from 1 to 10. The "Famitsu 40" score is achieved when all four reviewers unanimously give the game a score of 10.
This marks the 29th occasion since the magazine's debut in June 1987 that a game has received a "Famitsu 40" score, making it an exceptionally rare achievement. Additionally, this is the first game in the Street Fighter series to receive such a rating.
However, Street Fighter 6 became the second game to receive this prestigious award in the past month, following The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which also received a score of 40 in issue 1798.
The question remains as to whether Street Fighter 6 will become part of an even more exclusive club of games that have received both a "Famitsu 40" and an "Edge 10" rating.
A score of 10 in the British magazine Edge is also considered a rarity, with only 24 games receiving such a rating in the 30 years since the magazine's launch.
