On the eve of the “Gaming Oscar”, The Game Awards 2022, Valve unexpectedly showed up. And, with good news.

The company said that during the show, it will give a free SteamDeck to the audience of the ceremony. Valve promise to give away one console every minute of the presentation.

As The Verge has already calculated, in total, the creators of Half-Life and Portal will distribute 150 portable devices. The award ceremony will last 1.5 hours.

The Game Awards will take place on December 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA. Jeff Keely will award winners in 31 categories. The main intrigue of the presentation is the name of the best game of the year. 6 games compete in the Game of the Year category: A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War: Ragnarok, Stray and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
