CD Projekt RED releases Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.6

The developers of Cyberpunk 2077 continue to improve their product, which at the time of release, to put it mildly, not everyone liked because of its technical condition.

In February, we talked about how CD Projekt RED practically made an attempt to revive their title, fixing a lot of errors, bugs in the system and improving the gameplay, changing the ability system along the way.

CD Projekt RED also recently revealed the trailer for the upcoming DLC. Now it's time for a new major update that will give the game a new lease of life.

We remind you that an anime series based on Cyberpunk 2077 called Edgerunners will be released on September 13th. The game has content that refers to this series.

List of changes

Now in Cyberpunk 2077 it is possible to change the appearance of V without changing the armor values. Players will have access to 6 sets of clothes that can be changed in any apartment or shelter, and it will be possible to switch to them directly in the equipment panel.

The game has 3 new orders from fixers.

Cyberpunk 2077 has 6 new firearms, including a smart pistol, a shotgun, a machine gun, and more, as well as 5 new melee weapons. Of the latter in the game, you can find a chain sword, a knife, an ax and more.

Many weapons have been significantly redesigned and rebalanced. A new category “Machete” has appeared, in which some weapons have been moved. The tooltip for knives will show their return time after the player throws knives at enemies.

Cross-platform saves

Now users who would like to play Cyberpunk 2077 on various platforms can fulfill their desires and play the game on the console and computer, for example. This was facilitated by the cross-platform save system, which helps to load a save made on another platform, be it a console or a PC.

In order to implement this approach, players will need to log into their account, and all types of saves will be available from saves, including quick saves.

Cyberpunk: Enderunners

In conjunction with the imminent release of the Edgerunners anime series, CD Projekt RED has released new types of player gear and photo mode features in Cyberpunk 2077 that reference Edgerunners.

“Move, Roach!”

It was with this name in the title that an arcade game appeared in which V can take part. Fans of the Witcher universe will be pleased with this reference. The developers of The Witcher series could not resist adding such content to the world of Cyberpunk 2077. The game turned out to be meme-filled and filled with self-irony. She makes fun of the famous bugs that were in The Witcher 3.

In addition, the game “Move, Roach!” also appeared on mobile devices, but saves in the arcade cannot be synchronized with what will be in Cyberpunk 2077.

Photo mode

In addition to new opportunities for creating great shots in the style of the anime series Edgerunners, Photo Mode will now feature a new character, Nibbles. If V tames a cat with this name at home, then a pet will appear in the list of characters in photo mode, with which you can take interesting shots.

The developers have increased the range of tilt angle that is available for the camera mode. It has been increased from 60/-60 to 90/-90, allowing players to point the camera all the way up or down and take vertical shots.

The game has a lot of gameplay changes related to the main character/heroine and other things.

In reaper clinics, players can modify V's face and body, and the character in the hero creation window will not move unnecessarily.

Many minor bugs have been fixed in the game, due to which players could not collect loot or had other problems with models of various objects.

Some vehicles have been fixed and changed. For example, Thorton Colby - Colby CST40 got an all-wheel drive option.

V's abilities have been reworked to some extent. New abilities “Caustic Poison” and “Critical Antidote” appeared in the “Ninjutsu” branch, replacing “Approaching the Inevitable” and “Neurotoxin”. Some abilities related to the use of weapons and sniper rifles in particular have also changed.

The interaction with objects has been improved in the apartments, and V will sleep for as long as the player specifies.

Open world explorers have access to new secrets that are not available on previous generation consoles due to technical limitations.

Several main quests have been fixed bugs that prevented the passage of missions.

A large number of orders from fixers have also been corrected, due to which the quest could not be completed, have incorrect NPC behavior, or rewards were not issued. One of these bug fixes was related to a quest that gave V the Psalm 10:6 assault rifle, which gained significant status in the gamer community as it had an effective flammable ammo buff.

The game will now have more radio news, which will appear as a result of completing various side tasks. Players, by the way, now have the opportunity to turn off the subtitles of these same radio news.

The game world has new items that players can find. In clothing stores and other shops, users will now be able to preview how this or that item will look on V and from this decide whether to buy the item or not.

When using shops and opening the trade window, the game performance has been improved, and a bug with a dark triangle has been fixed.

The interface itself in the menu has been somewhat redesigned and made more convenient for the in-game experience.

The stash now correctly displays the cost of items.

The main character/heroine was not left without new products. New hairstyles are available for V in the character editor window. The appearance of the vehicle in the game world is now fixed and there should be many times less cases with incorrect spawning. Indestructible parts floating in the air after car explosions should also no longer appear.

Because of the slow hard drive mode, cars on the roads used to be able to drive into each other. Now this bug has been fixed.

Weapons have also been visually improved, and the bug that caused the last shot to not have a recoil animation has been fixed.

In one of the last quests, "Brother and Sister", the grass that grew in the building on the way to Yorinobu was fixed.

The sound component has been improved. For example, the sound of throwing knives has been slightly tweaked, and while carrying the body, reloading feels more realistic. In various quests, CD Projekt RED has worked on various sound improvements and minor bug fixes.

PC game owners can now choose from preset settings, more confident that the game will provide a better experience.

The Steam Deck version used to use not quite correct settings for adjusting the graphics level.

Fixed a bug with a drop in frame rate when opening the map.

Users on the Xbox Series S now have a performance mode that is enabled in the menu. With this format, the game will try to output 60 frames per second in 900p quality, having a dynamic change in resolution in the range from 800p to 1080p.

Google Stadia has missing keybindings for Change Walk Mode and Put Weapon away.

Fan users of mods will now install modifications for the game much easier. There is support for the new directory, and all mods will need to be installed in Cyberpunk 2077\mods\. The inclusion of the game mode using mods is carried out by the command line -modded.

Mods in Cyberpunk 2077 are pointless and merciless

In the end, the developers talked about the fact that all of these changes are “only the tip of the iceberg.” The game continues to be actively developed and already has a lot of innovations that you need to watch on your own.
