Sony acquires Savage Game Studios

On their website, Sony Entertainment welcomed their newest member, Savage Game Studios. The latter, unlike all studios owned by Sony, does not develop computer video games, but titles for mobile devices. Does this mean that Sony wants to start conquering the mobile gaming market? Definitely!

The Japanese giant called the acquired studio a talented and creative team with many years of experience in creating mobile games. The team gathered under the banner of Savage Game Studios in 2020. The studio will now team up with PlayStation Studios in order to achieve success together.

Sony representatives commented on the release of games on the PC, which were previously exclusives. They said that they still remain committed to the PlayStation community and prioritize them. Thus, they wanted to please users of game consoles with the releases of Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, MLB The Show 22 and the imminent release of God of War Ragnarok. These games will visit computers for a long time.

Sony has also revealed that they will be revealing what the PlayStation VR2 looks like relatively soon before releasing it. In this way, they want to give a big push in the realm of total immersion in games. They reminded in an appeal to fans that Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will soon be released on PC. They're proud of the work they've done with both this game and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, which was released on August 12th.

In terms of the mobile market and plans for Savage Game Studios, Sony wants to do the same job with handheld devices as it does with computers. Their goal is to introduce the world of PlayStation to as many people as possible.

To realize this goal, Savage Game Studios has joined the newly created division of PlayStation Studios Mobile. The latter will be independent from the main staff and will be engaged in full-fledged work on mobile titles.

Andoid and iOS games can also be in addition to the titles that already exist in the world of PlayStation and PC. The development of the debut mobile title is already underway, which will have to come out from under the pen of PlayStation Studios Mobile. It is noteworthy that the work is being done on an AAA-class game, which indicates an incredibly large budget. When the developers are ready, they will publish the first details about the game.
