About DOOM 64
Doom 64 is a first-person shooter video game, part of the Doom series of games. The game was released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64, and in 2020 Doom 64 was re-released for the Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms. As in previous games in the series, the main character is an unnamed space marine who was sent on another mission to the moons of Mars. On each level, the main character must destroy hordes of various demons using various types of weapons.
Unlike past games in the series, which were developed by id Software, the development of the new game was entrusted to Midway Games. The development team created completely new environment textures and enemy sprites, despite the technical limitations of the physical medium, the Nintendo 64 was able to implement all the weapons and most types of enemies that were present in the original parts of Doom, and also hired Aubrey Hodges as a composer, who had previously worked on writing musical accompaniment to one of the ports of the original 1993 game.
On metacritic, the game has a score of 7.3 from users. On Steam, the game has 94% positive reviews.
