New details about heroes and locations in GTA VI
According to the portal IGN, for the first time in history, a female playable character will appear in GTA VI. Rockstar apparently plans to launch the game with a single city, but will add more locations over time through updates, following the development model of its highest-grossing brainchild, GTA V.
As part of Bloomberg's report on Rockstar, sources close to the studio discussed the new female character, who will come from Latin America. The character is reported to be part of a pair of bank robbers in a story influenced by the real-life characters Bonnie and Clyde.
The report also indicates that at the launch of GTA VI, players will be offered a location that is the prototype of Miami and the surrounding areas. It is indicated that the series may return in Vice City. However, the developers plan to regularly update the game and add new locations. At the same time, the initial version of GTA VI includes more internal locations than in any previous game in the series.
Based on the report, the game is codenamed "Project Americas" due to its original plan to include vast territories located in North and South America - a plan that was partially canceled to reduce the workload on the studio's staff.
Sources also say the developers are skeptical of launch forecasts between April 2023 and March 2024 due to numerous team changes and a number of other production challenges. Some developers even quit due to lack of progress in creating GTA VI. The developers on the team reportedly expect at least two years to pass before the game's release, and say a firm release date has yet to be set.
After years of rumors, GTA VI was finally confirmed this year, but the official announcement date will only be announced when the developers themselves want it. Moreover, it is reported that the publisher Take-Two, the owner of the Rockstar studio, will not rush the developers. It is also rumored that the studio has recently transferred more staff to the development of GTA VI, abandoning the remasters of Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV.
