Sony suspends the supply and operation of the PlayStation Store in Russia
Sony Interactive Entertainment is suspending the delivery and operation of the PlayStation Store in Russia. First, users noticed network problems, while after that the company made an official statement about the shutdown of the PS Store in Russia, the postponement of Gran Turismo 7 indefinitely and the termination of the supply of consoles.
Sony Interactive Entertainment joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine. We are stopping all software and hardware deliveries, the release of Gran Turismo 7 and the PlayStation Store in Russia. Sony Group will also donate $2,000,000 to organizations that support victims in Ukraine.
The main changes in the service:
- Nothing to purchase from the PS Store.
- You can't add PS Plus games.
- Adding free games (Apex Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone) is not allowed.
- You can download purchased and update games.
- You can play purchased.
- You can play online and co-op.
Interestingly, users have reported that if a foreign account is linked to the console, then the PS Store is still available on it and you can purchase and download games from the store.
