Rockstar has officially announced the reissue of the GTA trilogy
Rockstar Games has officially announced the reissue of the GTA trilogy. The developers will present to fans reworked GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.
The games were combined into one collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. The re-release is reportedly set to hit Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC in the Rockstar Games Launcher before the end of 2021. In the first half of 2022, they will be released on mobile platforms with iOS and Android.
Rockstar said that all three games will receive graphical improvements as well as gameplay mechanics. The cost and exact release date of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy have not been disclosed, while details of the re-release are due to be revealed in the coming weeks.
In addition, the developers announced that the original versions of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas will begin to be withdrawn from sale in online stores from 11 October.
Although Rockstar calls the trilogy an HD re-release, in fact, the games will be simple remakes, since, judging by the company's store base, they have been ported to the Unreal Engine.
