EA FC Mobile Is About to Change Forever: PlayStyles Could Be Coming

If recent reports are accurate, EA Sports FC Mobile may be heading toward some major gameplay changes in the near future. According to leaks, the Player PlayStyles system from the main EA FC series could soon make its way to mobile — and that would be a significant upgrade worth getting excited about.

If implemented, PlayStyles would represent the biggest gameplay improvement FC Mobile has seen in quite some time. To understand why, it helps to look at how PlayStyles work in EA FC. First introduced in FC 24, PlayStyles go beyond traditional traits. They sit on top of a player’s core attributes and activate automatically during specific in-game actions. Most importantly, they are designed to mirror how players perform in real football.

FC 26 expanded this system even further by introducing a wide range of new PlayStyles. With PC and console versions receiving so much attention in this area, it would make sense for the developers to bring the same depth to the mobile version. At the moment, FC Mobile relies solely on a basic Traits system, which functions very differently from PlayStyles.

Based on the available information, PlayStyles would be divided into several categories, including Goalkeeping, Physical, Defending, Passing, Ball Control, and Finishing. They are expected to feature four different levels, apply only to individual players, and allow customization options such as equipping, unequipping, or completely removing PlayStyles from a card.

Here are some of the reported examples:

  • Goalkeeper: Super Rush, Whipped Crosser
  • Physical: Intimidator, Relentless Stamina, Accelerator
  • Defending: Aerial Defence Master, Hard Tackle Master, Stand Tackle Master
  • Passing: Bullet Pass
  • Ball Control: Speed Dribbler, Trickster
  • Finishing: Finesse Shot Master, First Timer, Penalty Expert, Power Shot Master

It’s important to stress that none of this is official yet — everything is based on reports and leaks. Still, imagining this system in FC Mobile makes its potential impact very clear. Squad building would become far more strategic, with the meta shifting away from pure OVR chasing toward smarter combinations of players and PlayStyles that complement each other.

For comparison, KONAMI’s eFootball 2026 already features player playstyle categories for forwards, midfielders, and defenders. Since its introduction, this system has proven to be an excellent way to add depth, offering countless tactical combinations and matchup possibilities when building a squad.

So, when could PlayStyles arrive in FC Mobile? There is no confirmed timeline, as nothing has been officially announced. However, similar reports in the past have eventually turned out to be accurate. If this one does too, it would be nothing short of a game-changer for the mobile experience.
