Evil Geniuses signs agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers
North American esports organization Evil Geniuses has announced a partnership with English Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It is noted that the football club logo will appear on Evil Geniuses' uniforms, while the parties will be releasing joint content in English and Chinese.
Nicole Lapuente Jameson, Chief Executive Officer, Evil Geniuses: "This deal will help expand Evil Geniuses' expansion into Asian markets, as well as provide new capital for the signing of new world-class players and the growth of new esports disciplines."
Interestingly, the Chinese conglomerate Fosun Sports Group, which owns Wolverhampton Wanderers, invested an unnamed amount in Evil Geniuses, after which the cost of the organization amounted to $ 255 million. It is noted that the funding will be used to expand the organization's global presence in the world - the company will open offices in Europe and Asia in addition to the American subsidiary.
According to the press release, the partnership is expected to enable Evil Geniuses to continue expanding into global markets. This includes leveraging the club's experience in the Asian market and local training centers to further expand the organization.
Despite being a football club, Wolves have their own dedicated esports division. Wolves Esports currently compete in disciplines in FIFA, Rocket League and racing simulators.
