Team Liquid has entered into multi-year agreement with Verizon
North American esports organization Team Liquid has signed a multi-year partnership with wireless operator Verizon.
As part of the agreement, the operator's logo will appear on Team Liquid jerseys. In addition, Verizon becomes the organization's official 5G partner.
According to the press release, the two organizations will also be collaborating on a variety of projects, including the newly created Diversity and Inclusion Task Force Team Liquid. Thus, a Verizon representative will serve as a consultant to the task force. Other activations include the creation of amateur academies and a loyalty program that rewards fans through the Verizon Up scheme.
The announcement also highlights that Verizon Studios and Liquid 1UP will be releasing original content, streaming live (via Twitch) and releasing social shorts featuring Verizon ambassadors. Ambassadors include Ariel Powers, CoreJJ, Mendo, 72hrs and others.
Note that Verizon is no stranger to partnering with esports organizations. The company previously signed an agreement with FaZe Clan and Dignitas. In addition, Verizon is currently an LCS partner after signing a three-year contract with League of Legends last year.
