NetheRealm Studios and Bandai Namco break contract with WePlay
NetheRealm Studios and Bandai Namco Esports have released a statement to end their partnership with eSports tournament organizer WePlay Esports. We will remind that WePlay, together with the world heavyweight boxing champion Alexander Usik, announced the creation of the Ultimate Fighting League, having held the first championship last month.
Recall that the first season of the international fighting league WePlay Ultimate Fighting League was held in March-April. At the Kiev arena, the participants raffled off $ 150,000.
It is unclear why both companies have publicly terminated their agreements with WePlay, but some sources suggest the split may be caused by the backlash from the fighting community over the organizer's recent partnership with Russian bookmaker 1XBET.
Note that earlier the foreign community criticized ESL and WePlay Esports tournament companies sponsored by 1XBET.
