During this event, Hou and Deng signed a strategic partnership between Tencent Esports and Hubei Province that will bring the CrossFire Franchise League to Wuhan as the first step in establishing the city as a Chinese first-person shooter (FPS) esports hub. Note that the CrossFire Professional League Spring Split Final will take place in Wuhan on Saturday, April 17, with a viewer limit.

In addition, Tencent also announced that the company will build a CrossFire theme park in Wuhan and will partner with local universities to grow even more esports talent and professionals for the industry.

Wuhan is a city that is widely known in the West because it is considered the starting point of the coronavirus pandemic. Geographically, Wuhan is located in the center of China and plays an important role in the eSports industry of the country as in the city based major players in e-sports, such as Chinese platform DouYu and eSports organization eStar Gaming. After China and Wuhan residents successfully contained the city's pandemic, the Chinese esports industry has given it more prominence in 2021. In addition to the CFPL Spring Split Final, Wuhan will host the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) Spring Split Final with spectators on Sunday. In addition, TJ Sports also offered one hundred free places for Wuhan healthcare professionals to show their appreciation for their hard work and self-sacrifice during the pandemic.
