ESL Launches Mobile Gaming Ecosystem
Esports organizer and production company ESL Gaming has announced a new mobile esports ecosystem spanning North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
ESL Mobile's inaugural spring season 2021 kicks off on April 12 with a prize pool of $ 650,000. The fall season will take place at the end of this year.
According to the press release, the new mobile esports ecosystem will expand ESL's efforts to cover more than 80 countries and different gaming disciplines.
ESL has partnered with leading game publishers and developers including Gameloft, Riot, Supercell and Tencent. However, ESL plans to add Asphalt 9: Legends, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Legends of Runeterra, PUBG Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift to its ecosystem.
Each season will feature two competitive levels, the ESL Mobile Open and the all-new ESL Mobile Challenge. Players make their way through two Challenge stages and two seat opportunities in the competitive phase of the tournament.
The first season will take place entirely online, with subsequent finals being streamed live at major esports events around the world.
The current schedule looks like this:
- April 12 - May 6: Mobile Open Play.
- May 7-8: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend.
- May 10 - June 3: Mobile Open Play.
- June 4-5: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend.
- June 15 - July 7: Mobile Challenge Regular Season.
- July 17-18 and July 22-23: Mobile Challenge Finals.
