YMCA becomes a partner of the LeagueSpot program
YMCA will announce the start of the tournament with the Chicago operator LeagueSpot platform as part of a national pilot program to support eSports from 2,300 centers of the legendary national public organizations across the United States who wish to take part in it. LeagueSpot signed a partnership agreement to begin work on this project with the YMCA in December 2020.
The YMCA National Esports Pilot Program officially kicks off on April 5, along with the league, aimed at middle and high school players. While the program will initially target junior high and high school teens, the long-term plan is to create proposals for younger children and college-age participants at a later stage.
LeagueSpot is no stranger to creating programs for large institutional partners. The company manages a range of offerings for high schools and colleges across the country, notably for the State University of New York (SUNY). However, the YMCA program is one of the largest ecosystems it has worked on to date.
