BLAST Premier donates $ 12.5 thousand to SpecialEffect charity
BLAST Premier, organizer of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments, has announced a $ 12,500 donation to SpecialEffect, a UK-based charity that uses games and technology to improve the lives of people with disabilities. The funds for the donation came from fines levied on teams that broke the rules in recent championships, such as Vitality.
SpecialEffect treats each person with an individual approach to help them achieve a certain level of benefit. The organization also works closely with community members to help create or customize technology to better focus on individual capabilities.
From modifying game controllers to eye or voice control systems to using a chin stick, every system recommended or lent by a charitable organization is personalized.
BLAST Premier has also announced its plan to expand its qualifying streak to cover multiple continents and 20 countries, with five slots available at Spring Showdown in April. Now more than 1.5 thousand teams will participate in the series.
The final of the BLAST Premier qualifying series will be attended by 40 teams directly participating in five tournaments. These teams will be pulled out of a possible 1,500 teams from the open qualifiers to compete in three regional competitions.
Dates of qualifiers for BLAST Premier Spring:
- Latin Power by FiReSPORTS - March 19-21.
- Unity Cup by LVP/RTP Arena - March 22-24.
- Fantasyexpo Cup - March 23-25.
- North American Qualifier - March 26-28.
