Riot Games revealed details of the first season of the Brazilian League of Legends Championship during an online conference (now CBLOL instead of CBLoL due to rebranding).

According to the director of Riot Games eSports Carlos "Caco" Antunes, the championship was completely rebranded in an effort to reconnect with the community and highlight the innovative spirit of the tournament. Caco also said this would be the start of a new cycle for CBLOL, as the 10-year plan for the League begins in 2021.

Investment in infrastructure and content, talent development (especially through the newly created academic league) will be increased in Riot's long-term plans. The events also include an increase in the headcount to work in a season with more games than previous ones, due to the number of participating teams, which jumped from eight to ten when moving to the franchise model.

Riot intends to start the season with an online format of games, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will return to the LAN for large championships if possible. Riot Games also added that it has the foundation for a quick transition from one format to another.
