Sentinels say goodbye to Apex Legends roster
The North American esports organization Sentinels has decided to say goodbye to its Apex Legends roster. This was reported by TeQ, the former head coach of the squad, who pointed to weak results as the main reason for parting with the club.
Didn't think I'd have to write this post, but the organization decided to disband the team and start over. During the first split, there were a lot of really unfortunate circumstances that just got out of our control and ultimately led to our poor performance as a team. Personally, I felt like I dedicated a lot of time, effort, and research to the team's success, and it really hurts me to know that we won't get a chance to showcase that in the second split. Throughout my time with the Sentinels, there were glimpses of a good game, but it just wasn't enough. Despite this, I take full responsibility for the work of the team, and senoxe or crust should not be blamed.
Moving on, I'm looking for another opportunity for a coaching job or a player's role as a captain. I know that I will be of great benefit to the team, whether as a coach or as a captain. I strive to win and I am ready to make it happen. Thanks to the Sentinels fans for being a great and incredibly funny group of people. I love you guys and I'm sorry I let you down.
The former Sentinels lasted for two and a half seasons. During this time, the Canadian team became the winner of Realm: Summit Series - Invitational, UMG - Champions Invitational 2, Apex Legends Global Series: Split 1 Pro League - North America, BFC - Pro Series Season 1: Week #1 and BenQ Apex Showdown #25, and also made it to the top three at PGL Showdown - North America, Esports Arena: Series E Season 1 Pro Tournament #7, Nerd Street Gamers - Winter Championship, Esports Arena: Series E Season 2 - Pre-Season Invitational and Oversight - Season 1 Split 2: Week #2.
However, the team only finished 23rd at the Apex Legends Global Series 2022-23: Split 1 Pro League - North America, failing to qualify for the playoffs, and were also eliminated from the qualifiers before the second split.
It's unclear what the future holds for the roster as the players have not yet commented on their next steps on stage.
