IESF World Esports Championship 2023 will be held from August 24 to September 4
The International Esports Federation has presented the first details of the next IESF World Esports Championship 2023. A series of esports competitions will be held from August 24 to September 4 in the Romanian city of Iasi.
We have several exciting initiatives planned for 2023 that will leave a mark on the history of esports. This year the World Esports Championship will take place in Europe, in Iasi, the historical capital of Romania. We look forward to working closely with the dynamic city of Iasi and continuing to grow and expand the World Esports Championship with over 800 players.
My goal as IESF President is not just to get athletes involved in esports, but to teach them how to play responsibly and develop strong leadership and team skills. The IESF is constantly collaborating with educational organizations and institutions to help esports athletes develop their professional skills. Thus, the World Esports Championship includes many academic and social workshops that give our athletes the opportunity to become the best and learn valuable life lessons.
In conclusion, together with the IESF Board, our 130 National Federations and our athletes, we have a responsibility to protect and advance the interests of the global esports family. We are working to ensure that esports has a prosperous future and that esports is recognized as a true sport.
Vlad Marinescu, President of the International Esports Federation
The last time the event was held in Bali, there was a record number of participants from 105 countries who competed in many esports disciplines. This time, the IESF President announced the IESF 2023 program and the IESF World Esports Championship 2023. The IESF 2023 program is divided into 4 categories: national qualifiers, regional qualifiers, grand finals, and a summit at the end.
