JUEGO acquires Vietnamese organization Saigon Buffalo
Vietnamese esports organization Saigon Buffalo, known for its League of Legends team, has been officially acquired by South Korean company JUEGO. The new owners acquire 100% of the organization's shares and stop using the Saigon Buffalo brand.
We are pleased to announce that Saigon Buffalo has reached an agreement to acquire South Korean organization CNJ Esports. Both parties are in the process of finalizing the necessary procedures to migrate and upgrade to Riot Games soon.
As a result of the deal, all rosters of the Vietnamese club will continue to exist under the CNJ Esports tag, in order to match the existing esports brand JUEGO, which was created last year.
Our goal is to create a global business using elements of South Korean esports, armed with a mythical history. Vietnam, which already has many ties to South Korean society and has great potential, was seen as a key market. CNJ Esports will continue the legacy of Saigon Buffalo and we ask for your attention as we re-emerge as a new esports company representing Asia with a focus on Vietnam and South Korea.
Saigon Buffalo was known for its League of Legends team, which has won over $300,000 in its five years of existence by participating in the 2017 World Championship, 2018 World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational 2019, Mid-Season Invitational 2022 and 2022 World Championship.
