DreamHack Organizes San Diego Festival in 2023
Esports company and tournament operator DreamHack has announced plans to host the now-traditional gaming festival in San Diego next year. DreamHack San Diego will run for three days and feature esports tournaments ranging from professional to amateur, as well as a massive LAN party, live music, movies and more. The event will take place April 7-9, 2023 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Shaheen Zarrabi, DreamHack VP of Strategy & Growth: "We're incredibly excited to launch DreamHack in San Diego. With so many partners, publishers and gaming organizations in California, this could be our biggest festival in the US to date. San Diego Diego continues to build on its reputation as a city hosting major industry conventions - DreamHack will add to that by creating an arena where you can come to socialize, explore, win, play your part and be yourself through a gaming lifestyle."
San Diego will be one of three locations in the United States to host a large-scale DreamHack festival in 2023. Prior to that, the festival has yet to make several stops in 2022, including DreamHack in Atlanta in November, DreamHack in Valencia, DreamHack Winter in Sweden, and a party in Hannover.
DreamHack previously announced a partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. As part of the deal, the company is organizing its own festival in Japan next year.
Details about which esports events will take place in San Diego have not been disclosed. The end of the 2023 DreamHack World Tour will be announced on DreamHack Day, December 9th.
