Quake World Championship 2022 bracket announced
The grid for the upcoming World Championship has appeared on the official page of Quake Champions on the social network "Twitter". In the first round, we will see GaRpY versus dandaking, the winner of which will go to the reigning regular season champion Marseille "k1llsen" Paul from BIG.
Full schedule of Quake Champions:
The championship itself will take place from 18 to 20 August at the PGL Studio arena in Bucharest, Romania. 24 esports players will compete for a $150,000 prize pool, and the full breakdown of the prize pool can be found below:
- 1st place: $25,000
- 2nd place: $15,000
- 3rd place: $12,500
- 4th place: $10,000
- 5th-6th place: $8,500
- 7th-8th place: $7,250
- 9th-12th place: $5,500
- 13th-16th place: $4,000
- 17th-20th place: $3,000
- 21st-24th place: $1,500
It is worth noting that due to the war in Ukraine, the organizers decided to remove players from Russia and Belarus from the championship, and their places were additionally played at the global qualification. The ban will last until the end of the season and may be extended for an unknown length of time due to US sanctions.
